Game Jam Day 4/7 Retrospective - Clean-up, Itch and More

Time to connect the parts

After day 3, we had a lot of loose, unconnected parts flying around. Maps, assets, itch ideas and more. It was time to start putting the puzzle together. From our Discord chats and pictures it was a bit difficult to really get a grasp of where the game was at that point. Lucky, that we established the usage of git (Github) and can not only read in the logs, what we were doing, but can also easily check-out some old versions and see directly, what we had at that time.

Visually, not much has changed on the surface: The head was now spinning when using the scan function, jumping and steps had some particles. Maps were arranged into the files. Under the hood, a lot of refactoring and rearranging of assets and scripts was ongoing to not only strengthen the overview, but also make sure that we won't get lost on the way towards the end. This was required, to have scene changes with correct triggers and without interrupting the music (and atmosphere).

Other than that, we were fixing issues for the WebGL build: The editor version was working fine, but the editor didn't have all effects and ultimately that was another no-no.

We also started to add first parts to the itch page, like a cover image, which was just perfect - so we left it exactly as it was for the release version.
